Price guide

How much does a resin driveway cost?

What decides the price of a resin driveway in Leicester and Leicestershire, why size matters, and how to compare quotes properly.

How we price

Three ways a job is priced

Every driveway is priced individually after a free survey. Your written quote includes VAT, all materials, labour and clearing up — and once agreed, it doesn't move.

01

Overlay

Usually the lower-cost route

Laid directly onto existing tarmac or concrete that is structurally sound. No excavation, no waste removal.

02

Full installation

Priced to the base work needed

Existing surface removed, new geotextile membrane, MOT Type 3 sub-base and VubaMac binder course, then resin bound on top.

03

Small areas, paths and patios

Higher per m² on small jobs

Setup, mixing and labour are much the same whatever the size, so a small area costs noticeably more per square metre than a large driveway.

Size matters

Why smaller areas cost more per m²

Setup, mixing, equipment and labour cost much the same whether we lay 10m² or 100m². On a small job those fixed costs are shared across fewer metres, so the rate per m² is higher. The bigger the area, the lower it gets.

AreaCost per m²
Small path or patioHighest cost per m² — fixed setup and labour are spread over very few metres.
Average two-car drivewayMid-range per m² — the most common job we price.
Large frontage or commercial areaLowest cost per m² — materials, plant and labour work most efficiently.

All quotes include VAT. Finance options available. A deposit secures your date.

What changes the price

Six things that move the number

01

Condition of the existing surface

This is the single biggest factor. Sound tarmac or concrete can often be overlaid, which roughly halves the cost. Slabs, gravel or a failed base have to come up and be rebuilt.

02

Size and shape of the area

Larger areas cost less per square metre because setup, plant and labour are spread further. Tight, awkward shapes with lots of cutting-in cost more per metre than a simple rectangle.

03

Depth required

15mm for paths and patios, 18mm for a driveway, 20mm where heavy vehicles run. More depth means more resin and aggregate.

04

Access and waste

Rear gardens, shared drives and restricted parking mean barrowing rather than machine work. Excavated material also has to be removed and tipped.

05

Edgings and detailing

Block or granite sett borders, new kerbs, steps, drainage channels and lighting all add to the price — and often to the finished look.

06

Blend choice

Most blends in the Vuba range sit at a similar price. A few premium or imported aggregates cost more per square metre; we'll tell you which before you choose.

Comparing quotes

How to compare quotes fairly

Two quotes for the same driveway can differ by thousands, and it is nearly always what's under the surface that explains it. Before you compare prices, get each installer to put four things in writing:

  • The sub-base: material and compacted depth (we use MOT Type 3, typically 150–175mm for a driveway).
  • Whether a geotextile membrane and reinforcement mesh are included.
  • The binder course beneath the resin — and its depth.
  • The finished resin depth: 15mm paths and patios, 18mm driveways, 20mm for heavy vehicles.

If a quote doesn't state those, it isn't comparable. Ours always does.
