Resin bound driveways in Leicester
Permeable, low-maintenance, and stunning — installed by Leicester's Vuba-approved specialists.
What is a resin bound driveway?
A resin bound driveway is created by mixing natural stone aggregates with a clear UV-stable polyurethane resin, then trowelling it onto a prepared base at the depth its use demands — 15mm for paths and patios, 18mm for driveways, and 20mm where heavy vehicles run. The result is a smooth, seamless, fully permeable surface that looks exceptional and lasts 20+ years with minimal maintenance.
Unlike resin bonded surfaces — where aggregate is scattered on top of resin — resin bound completely encapsulates each stone, creating a solid, weed-resistant finish with no loose material. It's the premium choice for driveways, patios, and paths.

Why choose resin bound?
Fully permeable
Water drains directly through the surface at over 850 litres per m² per minute — no puddles, no run-off, fully SUDS compliant.
No planning permission
Because resin bound is permeable, replacing your driveway doesn't require planning permission under UK building regulations.
Weed-free & low maintenance
The seamless bound surface leaves no gaps for weeds. An occasional sweep or jet wash is all it needs.
UV stable
Our aliphatic resin system won't yellow or fade in sunlight — your driveway looks as good in ten years as on day one.
Huge colour choice
Choose from a wide range of natural stone aggregates — from classic silvers and golds to bold slate and terracotta tones.
Exceptionally durable
Properly installed over a high-specification sub-base, a resin bound driveway will last 20 years or more.
How we install your driveway
- 01
Free survey & quote
Jay or a member of the team visits your property, assesses the existing surface and base, discusses your design preferences, and provides a full written quote. No pressure, no obligation.
- 02
Base preparation
A quality installation starts with the base. We excavate, lay a non-woven geotextile membrane, then compact a MOT Type 3 sub-base in layers — typically 150–175mm for a driveway. Structural reinforcement mesh and a VubaMac urethane binder course go on top: 20mm for pedestrian areas, 30mm under vehicles. Fully permeable, and it's what makes a driveway last.
- 03
Edging & borders
Block paving, granite setts, or brushed concrete edging is installed to define the driveway, provide restraint, and add a finishing detail.
- 04
Resin mixing & application
The Vuba resin and aggregate are mixed in a forced-action mixer for a consistent blend, then trowelled onto the prepared base to the correct depth for its use: 15mm for paths and patios, 18mm for driveways, and 20mm where heavy vehicles will run.
- 05
Curing & handover
The surface cures for 24 hours. Once set, we clean up and walk the finished job with you before signing off.

How much does a resin bound driveway cost?
Costs vary depending on the size of your driveway, the condition of the existing surface, and whether a new sub-base is required. The best way to get an accurate price is a free, no-obligation survey — we'll measure the area, assess the base, and give you a fixed written quote with no surprises.
Smaller areas usually cost more per m² than larger ones. All quotes include VAT. Finance options available.
